The Woods

The home was cute, clean and quiet. Would be great for a family but I also enjoyed my stay alone. Love the tiny home neighborhood surrounded by nature.

We loved our stay in this tiny home cabin! It was cozy, very clean, and the surrounding area was beautiful. We especially enjoyed the nearby trails. The kitchen was well equipped, and the games provided were a nice touch for family entertainment. It was a great fit for our family of five, and we would absolutely stay here again.

The property was very nice, super clean and comfortable. We were disappointed that the washing machine was out of order. However, it ended up not being a big deal. I would recommend updating the mattress in the master bedroom. It was a little hard. Other than those two things, we had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back!

The host was quick to answer questions and provide suggestions. It was very clean and most everything worked with exception of the ice delivery on the fridge and also the dryer was out of order. There was also some other fees that weren’t disclosed up front. Overall, nice quiet atmosphere. Be careful entering the gate area from the road as it is pretty rough and there are some potholes to avoid on the road once thru the gate.

Great experience. The little home was very clean, cozy and quiet inside. Mattresses were super comfortable. Business manager answered all of our queries in a timely manner. We came at night, and they had turned the lights on for us. Took us a little bit to find it because I missed the street sign(it’s in the median/garden type thing where the main road transects. The waterfall was a lovely sight to behold. A lot of birds and wildlife. Highly recommend hiking the Fiery Gizzard trail which is close. I made the mistake of noticing a washer and dryer in the photos provided, but they weren’t working for our stay.. you’ll note they aren’t listed in amenities due to that.

Loved this house and the location.

The cabin was great for an overnight stay to see a show at The Caverns. About a 5-10 minute drive to caverns. We felt very safe in that development. We also took a great hike to the falls before going to the show. We were challenged with getting the air conditioning going (not their fault). However, we put in a call and while we were at the concert, we came back and everything was good to go.

Our stay was a relaxing retreat! A great way to be in the outdoors with comfortable amenities. The tiny home was clean , comfortable and had everything we needed. Wish we had stayed another night. We will be back for a full weekend.

Really great tiny house with everything we needed! We absolutely loved the hike and private waterfall, it was everything we wanted. We loved that there was a fire pit for a morning cozy, early spring vibe.

Comfortable space away from the city with a very nice property and firepit area. I appreciated they cleanliness of the furniture, dishes, towels, and bathrooms. We were gone most of the days we stayed and wish we would have spent more time just hanging out at the tiny house. My only complaint is the lawn crew working with machines from 7am to 11am right off our property one morning. I realize that this work needs to be done at some point, so I understand. It was just noisey during that time. Overall great experience.

Had a great weekend get away close to home! Close proximity to a play area/sting set for the kids. Easy walking distance to Deer Lick Falls.

We enjoyed staying at this property. It was perfect for the two of us. It was quiet and close to some great little towns. We hiked the trial to the waterfall that is on the property. South Cumberland State Park is nearby that also has great hiking trails. Check out the cute stores and restaurants in Monteagle and Sewanee.

Wonderful vacation spot. Home was very comfortable. They had everything. S’mores sticks, lantern, blender, duraflame for fire pit, corkscrew, etc. Beds were comfortable, and the place is located in a very quiet, scenting spot. We loved the fire pit. Shower was awesome! Water pressure fantastic. Will definitely go back.

Great spot for sure. A little clearer road instructions/signs along the property road would help finding the driveway but isn’t too much of an issue. They will answer calls to resolve any issues.

We love the area and this community of tiny home vacation houses is a great spot to choose when coming to see shows at The Caverns. It’s a quiet, safe little spot. Our favorite tiny home here so far has been NestHaven.

Our family stayed right after Christmas & this place was BEAUTIFUL! It felt right at home and we had a get time. It was easy to get to and the trails were fun to walk. Our cabin was right in front of the playground which was PERFECT for my three daughters. We loved this place!!

My two yo daughter and I had a super fun weekend hiking and relaxing and playing on the playground. It was our first of hopefully many mother daughter adventures. Loved it!

We had a great stay while dropping our daughter off at college. The house was perfect for our family of four...it never felt crowded and we loved the front porch. It is a nice neighborhood. Wish we had more time to explore.

A cousin rented a home at Deerlick back in 2020. We came to visit and loved the tiny home so much we rented one for my brother and his kids (13-21) for our family get-together. They too loved the tiny home concept with lots of outdoor space. It sure is a nice retreat. We saw a deer as we were driving into the community. Instructions in the guidebook were very clear; they had no problems checking in and out. They were impressed with the sound insulation of the tiny home. Temperature was comfortable. The shower water pressure was excellent. We were happy to find a gas grill on the property as the guidebook did not mention it. We spent most of our time on Nickajack Lake and Chattanooga, so did not have time to check out the community. We did hike the lovely Greeter Falls, which is about 20 mins away. It's a great retreat to chill out.

We loved our stay this weekend. The cabin is perfectly appointed. We want to go back this fall!

The Woods at The Retreat was a perfect getaway for me and my husband. The firepit, the trails, the well-stocked and comfortable home were just what we needed.

We loved the tiny home in the woods! Perfect location to lots of hiking and great food. Everything was just as stated. Directions were great and service was quick when we needed help with the fireplace. Will definitely stay again but will just bring our own pillows. They are all totally flat. Be sure to eat at Mountain Goat Market, Papa Ron’s, and High Point! Visit the oldest bakery in Tennessee, Dutch Maid Bakery. Zip lining was fantastic at Big Foot Adventures! South Cumberland State Park had so many incredible trails and falls. There is also a pretty strenuous trail on property to a beautiful waterfall. Worth the hike!

In the woods was relaxing and the fire place was icing on the cake! Roasting marshmallows over the fire pit was a good touch for the nights! We definitely will be coming back!

Everything was so great! We spent a perfect Christmas in this tiny house. The city is close if you need a grocery. But if you want to take a delicious 5 o'clock tea, you should go to Tracy city. And don't miss the Deer's waterfall! It's is inside the property!

Great stay at The Retreat @ Deer Lick Falls. If you’re planning on going to a concert at The Caverns this is a great spot to stay. Great communication. Made this reservation before the quarantine fiasco of 2020 and they were super helpful in changing our reservation to 2021 when our concerts were rescheduled to. I can’t recommend this place more! Our group loved it!

We enjoyed our five day stay. The home was just as described. Our grandkids enjoyed the playground and hiking. The waterfall is beautiful. We will definitely consider staying again.

Short drive from Nashville. Great location, quiet. Tiny home is laid out great & very nicely furnished. Kids loved the choice of bunk beds or loft. Fire pit was great. We have stayed at several of the tiny homes at The Retreat at Deer Lick Falls. The Woods is no different than the others at The Retreat. They’re ALL wonderful! We’d definitely stay here again.

Great location to Sewanee! Perfect for a girls trip.

Amazing little neighborhood in the middle of nowhere. We were attending a concert in the Caverns so it was close by. We hiked in the neighborhood and it was very challenging! The lake is not in this part but close by and we went paddle boarding. Loved this place. I did need medical care and it was challenging.

Great place to stay if attending a concert at The Caverns. We thoroughly enjoyed the time spent around the campfire after returning from the show.

This property was fantastic! I couldn’t believe how good a tiny home could look. We booked last second and arrived very late, but the property owners sent all the AirBnB info over immediately. It was the perfect place to stay while roadtripping Tennessee’s waterfall hikes.

We had never experienced a tiny home until now. It was nice and pretty new and very livable. We also went on a nice little hike to the falls. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend it to anyone.

Quiet. Houses gave you privacy in a beautiful setting. House equipped with everything you needed. Television had so many channel options. Only downfall was WiFi access. Not reliable. Extremely sporadic and unreliable. After numerous tries called for help and office admitted this issue. So be aware if WiFi is a necessity. Otherwise. Perfect place to stay

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our weekend of outdoor living in the woods with a few other families who rented their own tiny homes nearby. We are already looking for times to return. It was so nice to have so much common space and hiking trails on-site with the comfort of being able to share space when we wanted to and have our own family spaces, too.

We had a great stay here. It rained and we found the space to be plenty large enough for the four of us to hang out, cook a meal and play games.

This was our 2nd time to stay here. The staff at The Retreat is very helpful and accommodating and the house is perfect for our family. We will stay here again.

A quick drive from the suburbs of Nashville lead to an incredible weekend. After arriving, we were surprised to find how quickly a tiny house didn’t feel quite so tiny. The kitchen provided everything needed for a great dinner. The location couldn’t be any better. South Cumberland State Park includes some of the best trails in the area for all skill levels. We hiked along the Fiery Gizzard trail (beautiful) & stopped by Mountain Goat Market for pizza & cannolis. A huge thank you to the hosts providing an ample supply of firewood & relaxing Adirondack chairs! Roasting hot dogs & making s’mores is quite possibly the easiest way to time travel back to childhood. We are looking forward to visiting again when the weather warms up, & this place is just as amazing when the snow falls.

This was our 2nd time to stay at The Retreat. It did not disappoint this time either. We would recommend it over and over again.

We couldn’t have had a better experience at the tiny house! It’s amazing how roomy it feels inside. The property is so close to so many beautiful hikes- we went to Fiery Gizzard and will definitely be back for more adventuring. Surprisingly awesome water pressure in the shower, too. One night we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire pit for dinner (in the snow!). It’s just so relaxing and beautiful out here, I’m so glad we were able to make this trip.

We have been mesmerized by the Tiny House movement for years. We watch all the shows and our youngest son who is 7, is obsessed with Tiny Houses. For his bday we gave him a stay in these tiny houses. We were all surprised how much fun we all had. The tiny house was very spacious and well thought out and we loved the fire pit. We roasted hot dogs and made s’mores. We hiked the trails that were onsite and were amazed how extensive they were. The waterfall was absolutely beautiful!!! The hike to the waterfall is pretty advanced, so just be prepared for that. Our 7 year old did fine though. You need appropriate shoes for hiking to the falls. We probably hiked for 2 hours on site and thought it would only be a 20 min hike. We were pleasantly surprised. It’s a hidden gem. We ate at The Smoke House and Papa Ron’s and both were delicious!!! We will definitely be back!!

Perfect place to reconnect with family and shut out the stress of life for a few days

This was a wonderful three day escape from the city bringing us back to the peace and beauty of nature. The tiny house was wonderful, well equipped and spacious. The fire pit was a real plus. The owners had it all set up with piles of leaves twigs, small branches and logs to make a wonderful fire. The hike to the waterfall was beautiful and invigorating. We will be returning again soon.

My family really enjoyed our experience and stay here in a tiny home. It was a perfect getaway to kickstart our Thanksgiving break. We enjoyed the trails and the scenery. The peacefulness and stillness was just the right remedy for some calmness. We are planning to come back.

You will LOVE this place! It is so easy to get to and everything you could want is at your fingertips. They provided everything we would’ve have needed for relaxation from pots and pans to blankets and firewood. Would for sure come back and visit with my best friends again!

My husband and I stayed in the Woods for a short baby moon before we welcome our daughter, and we had a great time! The cabin was so cute and space efficient enough that it didn't even feel like a tiny home. We really loved everything about our stay here. The fireplace inside provided cozy ambience; the appliances are new; the bathroom was stocked, and check-in/check-out was super simple. We slept in and hiked (Greeter and Deer Lick Falls are so pretty) and built fires and had a wonderful little escape. We highly recommend!

Loved our time at Deer Lick Falls!! Perfect girls trip. There were easy hiking trails onsite and some amazing ones by the State Park only five minutes away. Everything was really easy to work and figure out in the cabin and it had everything we needed! The space was amazing for our little getaway and would definitely come back!!

This was our first time to stay and it was wonderful! We stayed at The Woods and it was perfect. The house was so warm and cozy and had everything we needed. We went on the trail to the falls and it was beautifully. We also built a fire outside in the fire pit and enjoyed it so much. We will definitely be back.

The Woods would accommodate 4 adults and two children very comfortably, and we plan on returning with a few of our grandchildren in the spring. We hiked down to the falls (beautiful!), played on the playground, rode bikes, had a fire pit each night with music. So relaxing! We ate in town at Mountain Goat Market and Papa Ron’s. Both were good dinner spots. Next time I think we will opt to use the grill and grill out. This place is so unique. GO!

Our stay was unforgettable! The Woods tiny home was perfect for our family of 4 and room for 2 more! Our kiddos were pumped for the loft and S’mores on the fire pit! This is the perfect glamping trip for us since we are not much for camping. The amenities and local hiking make this a great family trip! The bed and linens were very comfortable as well as the furnishings, which were perfectly decorated! We highly recommend The Woods! Thank you!

Peaceful location with all the amenities. Close to trails/hiking and interstate. Had slight hiccup finding location since it was already dark (stupid GPS), but prompt call back with further directions. Very comfortable and pleasant. Would definitely stay again!

Visited as Mother / Son for a concert at the Caverns that was postponed. We instead enjoyed the falls and cave tours and of course the relaxing vibe of the home and neighborhood. It was clean and accommodating. Smart TV allowed for easy sign on of Netflix. Comfy seating outdoors allowed for quiet time with nature and a book.

Beautiful and peaceful! The private community is really special. Feels safe and quiet. There was a trail entrance right outside our driveway that leads to a waterfall! Kids playground was in front of the house and the kids loved using it. Mountain Goat Market has great pizza and is so cool inside! Shenanigans has great sandwiches! Foster falls hike was pretty short, not that hard and so worth it. Has a hanging bridge and great places for the kids to play in the water. Would do it all again in a heartbeat! Just what our family of 4 needed.

The cabin was perfect, even for one night. It's new and modern. Huge fridge and stove. Nice shower. There was dish soap, soap and shampoo provided along with paper towels and toilet paper. The grill was great for our needs and we enjoyed the fire pit too. We walked to the nearby waterfall hike which was quite a challenge but worth seeing. We may be back again!

We had a wonderful getaway in The Woods. It is the perfect getaway for anyone. The beds are very comfortable. The sofa is a sleeper. We didn’t use it but it was a nice surprise for next time. The loft is ideal for kids, but a difficult maneuver for adults due to the low ceiling. Perfect porch for that morning cup of coffee. Plenty of towels and wash clothes are provided. Basic kitchen supplies were provided and met all of our needs. We had a couple of issues with the router and power, but they were addressed immediately. We’ve already made our reservations for next time!

Deer Lick offers a glamping experience, instead of tents and campers, it’s tiny homes. The Woods is a lovely tiny home, surrounded by hardwoods. The home is equipped with everything you could need or want, ac, shower, tv, WiFi, washer dryer etc. You provide your own food, drinks, coffee. It has two nice porches plus an outdoor fire pit. Several other tiny homes in view and within earshot of each other. Some construction occurring as of July 2020. Google maps had a very hard time finding the location. Refer to directions from website. Inside tiny home is very clean and modern. Porches could use a little cleaning, but decent shape overall. Highly recommended.

We had a relaxing time at The Woods. It was the perfect location for a few Moms to escape our homes post-quarantine!

What a sweet tiny home! We rented to test drive the idea of living in a tiny home and loved it. Plenty of room for the two of us, very clean, and great WiFi. The wooded location is so peaceful and we managed to have a fire in spite of the rain ( which we loved hearing fall on the roof!) Do not miss the hike to the falls - they are spectacular. Easy access to lots of hikes and restaurants as well.

The grounds and connected hiking trails of this tiny home community were really lovely and surpassed our expectations. The tiny house living is really nice in some ways, and for a quick getaway, this property was perfect: close to Fiery Gizzard trail heads and Sewanee.

We loved staying here! Came up here for a weekend away with our 4 and 2.5 yo children and our expectations were exceeded. Small but doesn’t feel it at all. We spent most of our time on the porches, playground (across from the driveway) and firepit. Hikes to the falls was magnificent and the community is clean and friendly. Felt like we took and breath! My 4 yo cried when we left and we’ve already booked again for later this summer. Thanks for this little treasure!

Place was great, we visited for 2 nights for a golf getaway so we weren't really there during the day, but we enjoyed the fire pit and outdoor area's at night...

This was perfect! Close to so many great hiking spots and really the tiny house superseded our expectations!

We felt fortunate to get to spend a weekend at The Retreat. We were close to all sorts of good restaurants, sightseeing and there are walking trails all over the property. The hike to the waterfalls is a treat you won't get very many other places outside of a state park. The tiny home was perfect for our family. We enjoyed being able to watch our favorite shows and the kids were impressed with the 5g wifi. Plan to stay again and will recommend to our friends.

My family loved our stay here. It was like camping but with a nice comfy place to sleep. We love Monteagle and all the hiking it has to offer and this is the perfect place to stay to enjoy the area. One thing to note: there is a trail on the property that goes down to a waterfall. This is not a nice little nature walk. It’s a steep climb down and up so be prepared.

This tiny home is charming, but we were caught off guard by a few issues; namely, ants were present in the home, which was disconcerting since we had children with us and we found ants on them several times. The address provided in the check-in email was incorrect and took us 10 miles out of the way. The lots were also improperly marked based on the info given, so finding our specific tiny home was difficult. While the place was clean, the fire pit area was a mess and had not been organized or cleaned. The grill was missing a hose connecting it to the propane tank, so it was unusable. The presentation is nice, but the company managing these tiny homes needs to address issues like these to make this a better experience.

Amazing spot, very close to caverns for a concert. Cabin had everything we needed. We had a lovely time. And the walk to the falls is so worth it!

A quiet place to stay. Don't miss the hike to the waterfall.

The house was very clean and exactly as described. You couldn't ask for a better location for hiking down to the waterfall. The wifi was fast and reliable and the TV had an integrated Firestick, so you have access to the normal assortment of apps, assuming you're a current subscriber (Netflix, Hulu, etc.). The renter was very quick to respond to our questions. A rock/cement firepit was located next to the house with a fresh and ample supply of firewood.

We had a great time with friends state in the tiny home while we were in town for a concert at the Caverns! Unit was very clean, with great amenities while still being a tiny home!

What a wonderful place! I work at the Caverns and found this spot to be SO convenient to the Caverns. The property & the community have so much potential to grow but are just perfect the way they are now. I loved waking up and being in the woods without having to deal with the other discomforts of camping. The owner was very quick to respond, and the check in process was a breeze. The only suggestions I have for newcomers to the property is to have the map sent for "check in instructions" ready for your arrival, there are a number of sites and the map makes it easier to find the place. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering this place! Do yourself a favor and don't just stay one night, make a weekend out of it to enjoy this beautiful location & the surrounding setting!

Close to great restaurants and friendly locals. Make sure to visit Foster Fall and the local bakery in Tracy City.

Hosts were fabulous with communication. The cabin was perfect for a weekend retreat with two adults and four children. The girls absolutely loved the loft. We ate, played games, and watched Christmas movies. Great getaway and we are already looking at when we can book again. Highly recommend!

We had a group of 7; 3 adults and 4 small children and there was plenty of space. The cabin was beautiful and equipped with everything we needed for our stay; such as towels and dishes. I would definitely recommend this place and I hope to come back soon. Next time I’ll take advantage of the hike to the nearby waterfall.

A lovely, very clean and modern space. You will have everything you need including a grill and fire pit. Close proximity to Sewanee. Peaceful setting in the woods!

An awesome place to stay. A bit out of the way but once we found it, it was great. They were very responsive to any questions we had. Will definitely stay there in the future.

This is a wonderful place to stay. The outdoor patio and fire place add so much and the indoor space is plenty big enough. I will definitely be staying again next time I’m in town. I can not recommend this enough. This was my first tiny home experience but will not be my last. Def worth every penny spent.

A fun way to try out tiny living. Close to one of our favorite places, Savage Gulf. Our family enjoyed our stay!

The space was clean and had everything you needed for a stay; kitchen items, blankets , towels, etc. It’s a great place to stay if you are going to a concert at The Caverns. 2 lefts and a right and you are there in 15 minutes or less. The host was extremely quick with responses to any question we had. Definitely would stay again!

Fantastic Setting and Surroundings.

Loved the firepit and grill. All the extra kitchen ware is great if you want to cook. Patio area is a really nice place to relax. I loved the decor and floorplan of house. Space is perfect for an outdoorsy family. Host was quick to respond even at night. Love how easy check in and out was. I would definitely stay here again.

Such an awesome little getaway!

Camping and comfort without the hassles that come with camping! Great little get away. We sat outside, watched the stars, enjoyed quiet conversation, and hooted back and forth with a local owl! Will definitely be back!
